The disappointment for the crowds started when the certificate showed a U-rating. The incorrigible optimists decided to shrug it away as an aberration of our 'oh so reliable and credible' censor board. But when reality stared dawning on our voyeurs that it was just another Shakila inanity with little value for money and a case study on how not to make movies, the desperation begin to show. From then on, even a scene like a girl in knee-length skirt talking to a guy was enough for them to imagine being recompensed for their tickets.
This crap's 'story' begins thus. A priest (a pretty fat one) and his better half are looking for a groom for their daughter (Squeaky-Voice). SV does not want to get married as she has some duties towards her parents. She gets the job of a cashier at a bank and decides to buy things on installments. She goes to a mixer shop and falls in love with the owner (Broad-Beard) just because he sees her semi-nude at her house when he comes to install the mixer in her house.
Fatso and better-half have their own share of breakdowns at hearing this news. After SV wets her whole bed sheet with tears and throws a tantrum along with a couple of utensils, they agree to her marriage with BB. A marraige and a honeymoon later, BB happily runs away leaving SV in the lurch.
SV's vendetta starts from here. First she calls up a magnanimous whore, Ranganayiki. Enter Shakila. (I don't mean that literally. There are others for this job in the film.) The whore's job is to help women in distress in the day and happily groan around with sissies, obese sethjis etc. during the night.
The whore first relates a flashback about how she was an innocent girl but was raped by a photographer and landed up being a whore. However, the scene clearly shows sex taking place by mutual consent and the whore enjoying every moment of it. If the director thinks that any act of sex featuring a woman, especially if she is enjoying it, is termed as rape, then God knows what he would think of actual rape. In any case, my personal opinion is that men with such ideas should first be neutered.
The rest of the film deals with how the whore and SV go about their operation 'BB search' and succeed .A very commendable mission, a great idea and greater message are in store for the viewers. The latter being that women don't become whores by choice: circumstances make them so. No further comments.
